BROKEN WHEAT CARROT BREAD

Broken Wheat Carrot No oven Bread is ideal for people careful about their diet and those who need a boost of energy to get the day started. Daliya has high nutritional value and double the amount of iron, thiamine and niacin than that of refined wheat.

Ingredients
  

  • 250 grams Broken Wheat or Cracked Wheat, also known as Daliya
  • 1 cup Greek Yogurt
  • 1 tsp Himalayan Pink Salt
  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Eno Fruit Salt
  • 1/2 tbsp Lime Juice
  • 1/2 cup Grated Carrots

Instructions
 

  • Add broken wheat, yogurt, salt and sugar in a bowl.Cover and keep aside for 4 hours.
  • Add the soaked mixture to a blender and grind to a slightly coarse paste (like semolina).
  • Add Baking powder, Baking Soda, Eno, Lime juice and carrot to the batter.
  • Grease a loaf pan.Spread the batter in the greased pan.
  • For baking the bread in Gas, preheat a Dutch Oven or any heavy bottom pan on the stove with the lid on for about 10 minutes. Then place a trivet inside and then keep the loaf pan on top of the trivet. Cover and cook the bread for about 50 minutes on low flame.
  • Brush a little ghee on top once or twice in between to get a nice golden color.
  • For baking the bread in the oven, preheat the oven to 400°F/200°C . Then keep the loaf pan inside and bake for about 35 minutes.
  • Let the baked bread cool completely before slicing.
  • Slice and serve with your favorite topping.
