Easy Red Lentil Fudge/ Indian style Burfi
Today is a very popular festival in India-Raksha Bandhan. For this festival, let’s make a super delicious, melt in mouth Easy Red Lentil Fudge/Indian Style Burfi.
Desserts are the highlight of any Indian festival and no indian festival is complete without a touch of sweets.
Barfi, borfi or burfi is a dense milk-based sweet from the Indian subcontinent. The word barf means snow in Persian language.
Normally making Burfi is a tedious process because you need to reduce milk till it thickens but this recipe takes very less time since liquid ingredients are less.
In this easy Indian style homemade Burfi, I have used Red Lentil, known as Masoor Dal in Hindi. You can make this in 15 minutes from start to end.
Masoor dal, or red lentils, is full of nutrients and has immeasurable benefits.
People have recognized the benefits of masoor dal in the centuries past and thus it is an important part of Indian cuisine.
Any type of Lentil or Dal is a perfect go- to option for vegetarians. Normally Lentil or Dal is a staple diet in every region of India. People consume it in various forms everyday but mostly as a savoury item.
But since today is a festival, I have made a dessert using Lentil.
Also, this is a dump recipe where you dump all ingredients and cook to get thick consistency.
