Hello and Welcome to fitnfastrecipes !

I am Vijaya, a full time corporate professional and a food lover.

If you believe in a healthy lifestyle, then you are at the right spot. All my recipes are No white flour, No white sugar, No egg, No meat and No fry recipes.

In this blog, I plan to share a lot of vegetarian recipes that are Fast to cook and Fit your lifestyle, personality and taste.

Here you will find many quick and easy to prepare vegetarian and vegan recipes that have been adapted from across the globe, and are well-suited for any occasion.

Baking is my passion; hence I have tried to demonstrate a wide variety of baked desserts, cakes, cookies, breads etc.in my videos. Over the years, it has been my attempt to convert many classic recipes to an eggless variety by including more and more wholesome ingredients into these delicacies. Though there are many health benefits in switching from refined to complex carbs, it is pointless to try and eliminate all forms of refined sugar or flour entirely from certain preparations. Therefore, some recipes have been kept unaltered to keep the original and conventional flavours intact so that it can be savoured as an occasional indulgence or a treat for kids.

I have dedicated a section to the ‘tried and tested recipes’ from the Palakkad Iyer community to which I belong. Palakkad is small district in the southern state of Kerala, which shares its borders with the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu. Palakkad Iyers are a community of Tamil speaking Brahmins, who had migrated from the state of Tamil Nadu in the 14th century to settle down in the district of Palakkad. Hence the recipes of this community are a perfect blend of the cuisines of these two places.

These unique and purely vegetarian cuisines of the Palakkad Iyer community are prepared even without the use of Onion or Garlic (Satvik) in the recipe. Most of these are predominantly Vegan, since they use coconut oil, sesame oil and coconut milk for cooking. All the traditional desserts are prepared using jaggery as sweetener. Even the yogurt- based recipes, can be easily made Vegan by substituting dairy products to plant- based ones. These recipes have been passed down through generations that are relished by the people even today.

Another section , that I have introduced contains the Vegetarian Recipes from Bihar(an eastern state in India) . Cuisines from Bihar are full of flavours and ingredients that are super healthy. They not only tease the taste buds but also reflect the region’s diversity in terms of its landscape, history and community. The curries of Bihar use light sauce or gravy and basic spices which enhance the texture and taste of vegetables. Bihar happens to be my birthplace where I have spent over four decades and so it is obvious that my affinity for its cuisine is too strong.

I also plan to include a variety of other vegetarian recipes from different parts of India as well as other countries.

All the recipes pictured in the blog are what I would term as “No-fail” recipes.

I am super excited to have you here with me on this Culinary Journey of Wholesome Wellness. Any comment/feedback from you will be highly appreciated. So please subscribe to my blog and channel, try out the recipes and leave your comments to help me grow further.

With love and gratitude, always,

Vijaya
